City of Sabinal issues disaster declaration due to damage resulting from severe weather

The mayor of Sabinal has decided that “extraordinary measures” must be taken to assist people and property affected.
SABINAL, Texas — A declaration of disaster has been issued for the cty of Sabinal, the city says.
According to a Facebook post, the city located in Uvalde County suffered severe damage, injury or loss of property as a result of wind, rain and possible tornado damage.
Mayor Erik Gomez has decided that “extraordinary measures” must be taken to help people and property affected.
The state of disaster will continue for a “period of not more than seven days” from Wednesday.
This disaster declaration has activated the city emergency plan, according to the post.
